Working principle of feed pellet mill
The working principle is to load the raw materials into the silo, and after being transported by the screw of the feed extruder, the relative density of the pellets increases exponentially and is fed into the bite angle of two extrusion rollers. Then the raw materials are squeezed into sheets through the horizontally placed (or vertically placed) rollers, and then rollers with different surface structures are selected according to the characteristics of the material, and the number of teeth on the surface circle, the total width and depth of the journal groove, and the speed ratio of the rollers are changed. Finally, the working pressure required by the material is sent to the rollers through the automatic pressure-maintaining line of the hydraulic control valve, and the parallel rollers can ensure the consistency of the relative density of the material.
Feed pellet mill types
Feed pellet mill are mainly divided into ring die feed pellet mill, flat die feed pellet mill, roller feed pellet mill, etc. Different types of pellet machines differ in terms of output, applicable scenarios, etc. For example, the flat die pellet machine has a 180° flat discharge, which is suitable for small and medium-sized farms or feed processing retailers. It has the characteristics of easy movement, convenient use, simple maintenance, low investment, low cost, and mechanical and electrical dual-purpose; the ring die pellet machine has a 360° ring discharge, which is the first choice for large and medium-sized farms or feed manufacturers. It has the characteristics of high output, long life, can be used in conjunction, good degree of automation, good continuous operation performance, uniform feed quality, and low maintenance cost.
Choose feed mixers for large farms
Large-scale farms or feed processing plants have high requirements for feed output and quality, so they need to choose large-scale, professional feed mixing equipment, and may also need to be equipped with an automated control system to improve production efficiency and ensure mixing quality. For example, some large horizontal feed mixers have higher power and larger capacity, which can meet the needs of large-scale production.
Choose a feed mixer for a medium-sized farm
For medium-sized farms, there are a large number of livestock and a large demand for feed. You can consider choosing a medium-sized horizontal mixer. The capacity of this mixer usually ranges from a few tons to more than ten tons. It has high mixing efficiency and can complete the mixing of a large amount of feed in a short time. It is suitable for medium-sized feed production.
Choose a feed mixer for a small farm
If it is a small farm or family farming, with a small number of animals and a small demand for feed, you can choose a small feed mixer, such as a vertical mixer. Generally speaking, the capacity of a small vertical mixer is from a few hundred kilograms to one ton, the price is relatively low, and the operation and maintenance are relatively simple, which can meet the daily feed mixing needs.
Precautions for installing a feed mixer
First, choose a stable and solid installation ground to ensure the stability of the equipment during operation. Secondly, connect the power supply and transmission components correctly according to the equipment manual and ensure that all components are firmly installed. In addition, the ventilation and heat dissipation conditions of the equipment must also be considered. For example, during installation, ensure that the power cord has sufficient carrying capacity to avoid safety problems caused by overload.
Can feed mixers mix wet feed?
Most feed mixers can mix feed with a certain humidity, but the humidity cannot be too high, otherwise the feed may stick to the wall of the mixing barrel, affecting the mixing effect and even damaging the equipment. For example, feed with a moisture content of 20% – 30% can usually be mixed, but feed with a moisture content of more than 40% may not be suitable.
Energy consumption of feed mixers
Energy consumption depends on the power, running time and load of the mixer. Generally speaking, the greater the power, the longer the running time and the heavier the load, the higher the energy consumption. For example, a common medium-sized feed mixer may consume about 5-10 kWh of electricity per hour. However, the specific energy consumption needs to be determined based on actual usage.
Feed mixer raw material particle size?
Generally speaking, feed mixers do not have strict requirements on the particle size of raw materials, but too large or too small particle size may affect the mixing effect and efficiency. Too large particles may be difficult to fully mix, and too small powders may easily fly and clump. For example, if the feed contains large pieces of root materials, it may cause uneven mixing and requires proper crushing in advance.
